20 YEARS AFTER BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY MASSIVE PROTESTS AND RALLIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Monumental mobilisation marked the twentieth anniversary of the gas leakage at the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal. In addition to the demands for a comprehensive compensation package for the victims, and the fulfillment of outstanding demands of the movement, what was also raised was the urgent need for a system of environmental regulation that was sensitive to the vulnerability of those living on the margins of society.
